Share and Be Aware

Dooring happens when someone opens their car door without first checking to see if there are cyclists approaching. It happens more frequently than it should. The Squeaky Wheel teamed up with the Road Safe Action Group Inner Melbourne to undertake a safety campaign during 2013 Port Melbourne Bikefest.  

Collecting firsthand video accounts from cyclists who have been doored, the Share and Be Aware video project allowed the public to share their own stories, providing access to a variety of opinions and experiences that will help inform future actions. The videos were then compiled with interviews taken out on the streets and a single clip that can be used by the RSAGIM to raise awareness of the issue.
