MoreArt Bicycle Tours
It’s this time of year again! Every single fruit tree, bare leg, northerly breeze and utility bill we come across seems to shout WAKE UP IT’S SPRING! Never ones to let season get ahead of us, we’ve set up a series of fresh free rides to enjoy the spring at its best: by bike with good people!
Courtesy of the City of Moreland, we don’t just pedal: we appreciate. The annual MoreArt public art show is back, transforming the Upfield bike path, bringing new sounds, images, sculptures and sometimes even animals to our daily commute through Coburg and Brunswick.
A fine selection of Melbourne’s most creative artists have been chosen to present their works outdoors, in train stations or along the bike path in October, including: Tul Suwannakit‘s ‘Day 1′, an installation of day old baby chickens emerging from Anstey Station, Phillip Soliman‘s ‘Great Pyramid’ (a pretty large pyramid, with the same proportions as the Great Pyramid of Khufu) that compares Egypt’s Pharaonic history with their current political situation or Bush Projects who are setting up an interactive, transformable furniture installation at the Mechanics Institute Performing Arts Centre on Sydney Road, just to name a few.
Discover it all and join a FREE tour along the MoreArt 2013 trail, a leisurely paced ride to meet exhibiting artists, your three favourite local bikeshops and new bike buddies. Spots are limited, bookings essential and can be made via clicking the links below.
