MoreArt - Night Ride
One of our favourite times of year has to be the annual MoreArt Public Art Show.
Each year the City of Moreland invites artists to transform public spaces alongside and around the Upfield Bike Path and train line with work created for specific spaces. And one of the best ways to discover the work is of course, by bicycle!
Our MoreArt Night Ride will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a different side of MoreArt and will make the most of those installations that will be lit up.
The MoreArt Night Ride will be held on Sunday October 25th and will start from Green Park Dining on the Capital City Trail. The theme of this year's show is Participation and many of the art works are created to invite your involvement in one way or another. We'll head over to Jewell Station to join in with the interactive elements of Matter of Fact Jewell Station before heading North up the Upfield where we'll find Public Execution at The Commons.
From Moreland Station we'll head over to the Brunswick Shimmy and enjoy some suburban back-street riding as we make our way back down to the Mechanics Institute to view the lit sculptures Dream Boat and Suburban Therapy. We'll finish up at the Brunswick Green for a sociable drink and chatter about our evening.
Artists will be present as we view all the works to give some background on their work and answer questions. Decorate your bike with as many lights a you can and turn yourself into a riding art installation!
This tour is appropriate for intermediate riders and will take place mainly on off road bike lanes (Upfield bike path) - some riding on on-road bike lanes and back streets required.
Bring some water, LIGHTS and snacks, places limited to 22 participants.
This is a FREE ride but it is essential that you reserve your place.
