Festival of Spokes - Wheelie Workshop
Freewheeling, the National Museum of Australia's travelling exhibition exploring the history of cycling in Australia, is coming to the Gold Museum at Ballarat and they're throwing a party.
The Festival of Spokes will be a community celebration of the opening of the Freewheeling exhibition and of course The Squeaky Wheel will be there to help bring the fun with one of our Wheelie Workshops!
Freewheeling features the bikes, gear, photographs and stories of riders who have experienced the joy, excitement, freedom and even the glory of moving at speed under their own power. Freewheeling explores what bikes have meant to adventurers, women, kids and athletes.
The Festival of Spokes will feature local community group stalls, a vintage clothing market, showbags, a penny-farthing rider and of course our Wheelie Workshop.
Bring your kids and their wheels along to our Wheelie Workshop between 11-3. Our Bike Doctors will give the bikes a health check, your kids can decorate their bikes, and themselves, and practice their riding skills before taking part in a bicycle parade at 1:30pm.
The Festival of Spokes will run from 10am until 3pm on Saturday October 31st. Come and say hello at the Wheelie Workshop between 11am and 3pm.
