The Pushy Women will be setting off from our favourite Capital City Trail cafe – Green Park Dining for a ride to namesake event – the Pushy Women Speaking Event<\/a>! This year the line up features Julia Morris, Clare Bowditch, Fiona O’Loughlin, Rachel Berger, Alicia Sometimes, Fiona Patten and of course our patron and host, Catherine Deveny.<\/strong><\/p>
We’ll mill about enjoying a coffee thanks to our charming hosts<\/a>, and then set off on a scenic route into Trades Hall for a stand up show all about women on bikes.<\/p>
We’ll be riding at a VERY relaxed pace. So relaxed we may stop moving at times to gawk at shop windows or wonder at the first autumn leaves sprouting in leafy Carlton North. This ride is suitable for beginner riders, but you must be confident riding in light traffic.<\/p>
If you want to see the show with us, make sure you have booked your tickets<\/a> early, the show will SELL OUT. After the show, we’ll pop across the road for a refreshing beverage at the John Curtin Hotel. Lovely.

The ride will be conducted on road, and is not suitable for beginner riders. Bring a bicycle in good working order, wear comfortable brightly coloured clothing and a SMILE!<\/p>

Do you live in the west? Are you one of the thousands of 'interested but concerned' women who would like to ride for transport but don't feel you have the skills or knowledge to start?<\/p>
We have teamed up with Joyce from CycleStyle<\/a> to present the Westie Women on Wheels program, made possible with the support of the Maribyrnong Community Grants<\/a> program. This program is FREE to attend and suitable for people with basic bike skills (not beginners).<\/p>
If you are looking for the impetus you need to get going, this is the perfect program for you. Delivered over 3 sessions, you will receive bicycle skills training, road rule education and route planning advice for your local area. The final session will take the form of a social ride, introducing you to the safest and most direct routes for amenities in your local area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>

You will need a bike in good working order (if you do not have a bicycle, please contact Jette<\/a> and an arrangement can be made to source a bicycle for the sessions), and to attend wearing comfortable brightly coloured clothing.<\/p>
Places are limited to 22 participants per session. We are offering all 3 sessions as a single program, we  strongly encourage you to complete all three to get maximum benefit. Program dates and times are listed below.
