The Squeaky Wheel was a not-for-profit producing and advocacy organisation established in 2011, with a long history of advocating for bikes in everyday life before then. Having staged hundreds of rides, campaigns and events celebrating bicycles as vehicles for change, we have decided that now is the right time to draw a line under our achievements and focus on new opportunities. We're immensely proud of our work and have archived some of our activities here for the benefit of riders, programmers, policy makers and daydream believers everywhere. The Pushy Women concept was created in partnership with Catherine Deveny on a winter bike ride in 2011, and the first show staged during Melbourne Bikefest in 2012. The show's premise is simple, women telling a story about bikes or bike riding. And the greatest news of all? Pushy Women will continue into 2018 and beyond!

Despite the bittersweet occasion of our pulling up stumps, we take heart in the knowledge that some of our best programs will not be finishing up with us. Our very good friends and partners over the years will be keeping the candle burning (or the wheel squeaking to be more accurate) and taking over presentation of these crowd favourites.
